Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

VoxKey is an Android keyboard application with voice transcription and text command features, created by David Peralta. This privacy policy explains how VoxKey handles your data.

The short version: We designed VoxKey so that your data never passes through us. We literally cannot access it because it never reaches our servers.

2. Information We Collect

Essentially nothing. Specifically:

• We do NOT collect personal information
• We do NOT collect usage analytics or telemetry
• We do NOT require account creation
• We do NOT process or store voice audio

VoxKey has no user accounts, no sign-up, no tracking pixels, and no analytics SDKs. We don't know who you are, how often you use the app, or what you type.

3. How VoxKey Works (Technical)

When you use voice transcription in VoxKey:

• Voice audio is sent directly from your device to Groq's API using your own API key
• VoxKey acts as a pass-through — audio never reaches our servers
• Transcription results are returned directly to your device

There is no middleman. Your phone talks directly to Groq. We are not involved in that communication at all.

4. Third-Party Services — Groq

VoxKey uses Groq's Whisper API for speech-to-text transcription. Here's what you should know:

• Your Groq API key is used — you have a direct relationship with Groq
• By default, Groq does not retain customer data for inference requests
• Groq may temporarily retain data up to 30 days for system reliability and abuse monitoring
• You can enable Zero Data Retention (ZDR) in your Groq account settings
• Data is stored in Google Cloud Platform (US)

5. Data Stored on Your Device

VoxKey stores the following data locally on your device:

• Your Groq API key (in app preferences)
• App settings and preferences
• User dictionary and learned words
• Transcription history (stored locally only, deletable at any time)

We have no access to any data stored on your device. It never leaves your phone unless you explicitly share it.

6. Purchases

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Google Play. VoxKey does not collect or process any payment information. For details on how purchase data is handled, see Google Play's Privacy Policy.

7. Microphone Access

VoxKey requires microphone access for voice transcription. Here's how it works:

• The microphone is only active when you tap the mic button
• Audio is sent directly to Groq for transcription and is not recorded or stored after transcription completes
• VoxKey never records audio in the background

8. Children's Privacy

VoxKey is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Since VoxKey does not collect any personal information from any user, there is no specific data to address regarding minors.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Your continued use of VoxKey after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
